CTRL & Z – Recovering from mistakes

Undo - Ctrl Z

Undo – Ctrl Z

CTRL & Z – Have you ever accidentally deleted something or made a change that you didn’t mean to and need to get it back the way it was? In most cases, pressing the Ctrl & Z keys will UNDO that change. It is best if you do this right after the mistake though. Some programs allow you to do this several times, if you’ve made many mistakes in a row.

To help prevent unwanted changes from ruining your work, you should Save your documents frequently, even from one paragraph to another. Making a habit of Saving your work often, will save you from having to do the work more than once. As the saying goes; “Save Early And Save Often“.

Undo = Ctrl & Z

Consequently, to REDO an action after Undoing it, you can use the Ctrl & Y shortcut.

Redo = Ctrl & Y
